Things You should know
1. Clicking or noisy hard drives should not be run. Continuing to use a hard drive that is making noise can actually make things worse. These hard drives have physical damage and continuing to use these drives could further damage the surface of the disks, making recovery of data much more difficult, if not impossible. See picture on right.2. When recovering data on a problem drive never write anything to that drive. You could be over writing the data you are trying to recover.
3. The sad truth is all hard drives will eventually die. The most important thing you can do is prevention. Backup your data to a seperate device. You may even want to also back up your data to a second location. Some place else where you don't have all your backups in one location.
4. Any honest Data Recovery company will tell you not all recoveries are successful, nor are all recoveries 100%.

HARD DRIVE PACKAGING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Remove drive from unit and retain all brackets, cables and hardware unless otherwise instructed.2. Place the drive inside an anti-static bag, if an anti-static bag is not available wrap the unit in aluminum foil.
3. Pack the unit in the center of a sturdy box with 3-4 inches of foam or bubble wrap around all 6 sides.
4. Seal the box with sturdy tape.
5. FLR recommends shipping hard drives via air service to minimize handling as to ground services. Hard drives are delicate instruments; do not ship your drive in the bags or boxes provided by delivery services, as they are insufficient protection for your equipment.
